EcoLayer Leggings x Planet Earth

Our most important collaboration of all, is the one with our Planet. We have a mission to work to a circular economy and make our contribution to ending environmental issues on our Planet. Our EcoLayer Leggings are just the start! Our oceans are suffering! Between 5 and 13 million tonnes of plastic leaks into the world’s oceans each year to be ingested by seabirds, fish and other organisms. By 2050 the ocean will contain more plastic by weight than fish, according to research by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. 

The solution: To help save our oceans, plastic water bottles have been removed from the seabed and manufactured into EcoLayer leggings.

Here is how: Once the plastics have been gathered, they are washed and shredded into tiny pieces. These are melted and extruded into yarn. This yarn is then knitted into high quality, high stretch and soft touch fabrics. This beautiful fabric is then crafted into our finest EcoLayer leggings. Approximately 25 water bottles are used to produce one pair of leggings.
