The University of Manchester is a British university powerhouse. Steeped in history, it is the second largest university in the UK, with nearly 40,000 students. Renowned for its innovation and research, the appeal of the University of Manchester transcends the UK. It is a truly global institution.

“Manchester is one of Britain’s most famous cities. The University of Manchester is one of Britain’s most famous institutions. It is a university that is recognised and respected throughout the world. We are very excited about this partnership and what the future holds. We have created a unique, eye-catching black and purple look, which will make a statement across university competition. It is no surprise that nearly 40,000 students attend Manchester; it is a world-class university in a world-class city.”

Roderick Bradley – Marketing Director, PlayerLayer

The University of Manchester has a proud sporting tradition. From hosting the first inter varsity athletics match in 1919, to setting a new record for the largest mass entry into the Great Manchester Run in each of the last two years, we strive to provide high quality and wide ranging sporting opportunities for our purple community. Whilst we remain very proud of our Athletic Union sport teams, who compete to the highest level within the BUCS leagues, we also have a target to get 50% of our total University community more active by 2020.

PlayerLayer provide the high quality products that our sports teams demand and a wide range of sports and leisure wear for all activities that will enable us to bring our whole sporting community together under one brand. There is something for everyone across the range of products from high performing athletes to yoga addicts and committed walkers, and the quality and consistent styling is creating a real presence across campus.”
